Description Adult males weigh between 400 and 575 pounds and measure between 9 and 10 feet in length from head to tail.
Diet Chital (axis deer), wild boar, monkeys, gaur, buffalo, rabbits and badgers. Location Most numerous in the mangrove forests of eastern India and Bangladesh. Also found in Nepal and Burma.
Habitat Dense forest, mangrove swamps, savannahs, rocky areas and lush grassland.
Defining features Bengal
tigers are nocturnal. Though powerful and quick over short distances,
they stalk their prey because they cannot outrun faster prey.
